Fast-paced change requires trust in new thinking and approaches. Nowhere is this more pertinent than how our law applies to the IT sector – where change is constant and often unexpected. E-Diligence 2009 on 5 & 6 November brings together the leading technology, governance and legal practitioners to reflect on recent developments and forecast future trends in the field.

Keynote speaker Mervyn King will unravel the specific IT governance provisions of the King III report. This will be followed by presentations, workshops and interactive sessions with the country’s top legal and IT practitioners including Pria Chetty (Chetty Law), Brendan Hughes [Infology], Mike Silber [Neotel], Paul Strauss [Global Security Solutions], Anthony Olivier [Standard Bank] , Annamart Niemand [A2 Consulting], Sizwe Snail [Couzyns Attorneys].

The conference is being hosted by leading Technology Law firm Chetty Law. “An alternative format and emphasis is required to really get your head around the scope of the current issues,” says Pria Chetty, founder and senior attorney at Chetty Law. “This event collects leading speakers with first-hand experience to talk to the pertinent topics at this fascinating time for our field.”

Day 1 focuses on Information Management and Governance, with topics ranging from the new companies act and data privacy to cyber-crime and international best practice. Day 2 provides practical preparation with a focus on IT law in practice, new media, licensing, contracts and sector forecasting. Toolkits, checklists, templates, policies, roadmaps and advisory notes will be provided to all delegates.

2009 has been particularly eventful with the arrival of draft legislation and codes of practice that have direct impact on our increasingly digital, networked, social and always-on business world. The E-Diligence 2009 conference presents a unique opportunity to engage with the issues and gain the upper hand in your strategic decisions for 2010 and beyond.

The conference takes place at the Bryanston Country Club on 5 & 6 November 2009. Only limited seats are available. A full programme, delegate registration forms and pricing are available below.
